- Harry Meets Mathilda, a children’s book written by Eileen Mary Wisdom, illustrated by Melinda Saunders, and published by Linda Wasserman’s Pelican Press was one of a number of children’s books highlighted at the first annual Back-to-School Literacy Fair held at the St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Gulf Breeze, Florida on August 4, 2010. The fair included readings from each of the books represented, as well as a presentation by Melinda Saunders on the art of illustration.

- PAC Meeting: October 1st & 2nd. The Emerald Coast Chapter will host the 4th quarter PAC meeting on October 1st and 2nd. The event will be hosted at the Breakers on Okaloosa Island. Friday night has been opened for the FWB Charter Chapter to have a WINE Tasting Event. The Emerald Coast Chapter president, Tammy McDaniel encourages the Alabama & Georgia Area Councils to join us along with other chapters in Florida . This location is on the Beach and the Breakers will offer special rates for their 2/3 bedroom units for ABWA members to spend the night.
